I don't always thrift dresses that fit me perfectly, but when I do, they're black and white gingham. I actually thrifted this dress in the same second hand shop that I'd found the other one... I wonder if they have a secret source of black and white gingham dresses. :)
Anyway, I was overjoyed to spot it as it's full skirted and not so short... The cleavage is lovely too, but it's too cold at the moment to wear it with bare arms. No worries, I'm sure I'll remix it so many times, probably you'll even get bored with it. :)
This lucky find made me daydream about a wardrobe that would consist of patterned, full skirted dresses that hit just below the knee, with tiny cardigans in saturated colours and pairs of platform shoes in every colour of the rainbow and more. That would be the core of my ideal wardrobe really, if I could afford to buy whatever I fell for!
I was wondering what my Blog Friends would say if I asked them about their dream wardrobe, and as I'm off on a little holiday, you will see some great guestposts from some lovely blog friends who kindly agreed to prepare posts that are centered around the topic of a dream wardrobe or a dream dress. Let me tell you, there are some real treats in store, so be sure to check back while I'm away!
Oh, and in the meantime feel free to share in the comments what your dream wardrobe would consist of! :)
Wearing: thrifted dress, Terranova cardigan from ages ago, Calzedonia tights,
Vagabond shoes, H&M scarf and flowers.

I love the knotted cardigan with the dress! What a clever way to wear clothes. My dream wardrobe would also have more full skirted dresses, and strong shouldered blazers and lots of soft scarves, and lace up boots.
Oh, lots of scarves! Those are definitely a must! :)
I loved the dress! Thrifted dresses rarely fit me properly so I understand you but this one looks lovely. Loved the tights too! xx
This dress is lovely! The pattern & cut are really flattering on you.
Mmmm dream wardrobe... There would be lots of floaty dresses, and I would have adorable pumps in every color. I have trouble finding shoes for my tiny feet so mostly I'd love a whole slew of different shoes...
Thank you Ipek! hope you're feeling better! :)
Thank you Loren! It's a rare find! :)
There are a few shoe shops here in Budapest that actually cater for small feet only! Maybe you should come and visit. :)
Those tights were a perfect choice! I love the color combo with the black and white plaid!!! :)

Aw, thanks, that's the best compliment! :)
Tights in vibrant colours are absolute dream wardrobe staples! :)
Ahh, I can imagine that dream wardrobe all too well! :)
Aawww Madline, this is SO lovely! The cutey gingham dress and the flowers make this remind me of "Little House On The Prairie" a bit, only that the scarf and tights give it a more modern twist :) And they are such nice pops of colour! <3
Oh and btw you've got a mail :)
Mustard tights seems to make any outfit pop with greatness. I love the floral brooch that you've added to the black/white gingham dress. Enjoy your holiday look forward to reading the guest posts.
Oh I'm going on holiday too!!!! Love the gingham dress and it is kind of crazy that you bought it at the same place as the other dress. The yellow tights make the print so vibrant.
Hehe, I used to watch that every afternoon when I was little! Maybe it seeped into my subconscious! :)
You've got mail too! :)
Thank you for the holiday wish Lovely! :)
Thank you Jamillah! Have a wonderful holiday! :)
My dream wardrobe would include tons of great shoes but I can't do that at this point in my life because I've had such chronic foot problems from injuries that every shoe I have has to be a comfort shoe. Boring! I have expensive taste and am always curbing my clothing appetite, but in a dream wardrobe the skies the limit!
Looking fabulous! You've one a prize in my giveaway, please let me know where I should be sending it purvey.singleton@gmail.com xx
ohh those tights are so cute! love the color!
oh my, you look so cute! i like the dress and i really like the flowers!! :)
xx
That dress is gorgeous on you! What an incredible find. I love it paired with the cardigan and bright tights. Your dream wardrobe sounds beautiful. I am not sure what mine would consist of...probably a lot of classic vintage pieces from the 50's,60's, adn 70's.
Have a wonderful holiday! Can't wait to see what the guest bloggers dream wardrobes consist of :]
:) There are some great comfort shoes around though... But none of them have heels, granted...
Thank you! :)))
I've written to you!
Thanks! :)
Thank you Fleur! :)
Your dream wardrobe sounds great! Hope you'll like the guest posts! :)
Your dress is adorable! What a great find!! And I love that you've paired it with mustard tights! You look lovely! And I was just reading your 'about' page; I visited Hungary years ago as part of a music study tour with the Singapore Lyric Opera and absolutely loved it! Budapest is beautiful! We watched Turandot at the State Opera House and it's still one of the most memorable opera productions I've watched!

Very cute! I love gingham.
Oh gosh, I don't know what my dream wardrobe would consist of. Perhaps everything featured in the J. Crew catalog or at Anthropologie stores.
Such a great question.
