My sister thinks this dress is something a museum curator would wear, so it's a fitting one to start a new project with!
I've been following Jess' blog, Animated Cardigan for a very long time now and she and a blog friend, Salazar set up the Style Imitating Art series, where they allow themselves to be inspired by a work of art they choose, and dress up accordingly.
This time the painting in focus was a Klimt piece, who I really really love, namely The Portrait of Emilie Flöge, so I decided to finally take part. :)
I wish I had a dress just like hers...
You can check out all the other bloggers and their inspired outfits at Salazar's blog soon -we're in very different timezones, so I guess a few hours after my post is up. :)
These rings are handmade by a friend of mine who I've known since we were both 6! She became a very talented jewellery maker specializing in enamel and copper. I've made the earrings. :)
Wearing: Thrifted dress, handmade jewellery from Jojó Art Shop,

You look amazing!
I love it! You look adorable! The pattern and colours of the dress compliment the painting perfectly :)
what a pretty dress, love the artwork which inspired you!
Hello lovely lady. I've been absent for a while but am back full force now and I missed seeing photos of you and reading your blog. (: You are looking awesome in that dress, I have to admit.
Thank you Gracey! This is such a fun project, I'll try not to forget to take part again. :D
Thank you Jess! :) Great to take part finally! Welcome back! :)
That artwork is SO you! And I think you transferred into your outfit very well. Bleh, my English is a bit off today. I might just have to shut up, haha. Hope you are doing well! xo Nikki
I love the way you imitated the artwork in your own way, and those rings are so pretty! :)
Thank you!
Hey, hope you had a great time away! :)
Thank you, that's such a nice compliment! :) Who wouldn't want to be a Klimt painting? :)
Thank you! :)
Your outfit is beautiful and matches perfectly with the art...what a great idea!
This is such a cool idea! I'm not much of an art professional but I know and like Kliemt and I think your attempt on styling your dress according to his painting worked great! I especially love the little detail of the crossed straps at the cleavage!
the dress is pretty, the print on it is awesome!! so much going on!
It's definitely a great idea - not mine though, the credit goes to Jess and Salazar. :) But it's great to take part! :)
When I saw this dress in the second hand shop I knew I had to buy it. It's a Scandinavian brand I've never heard of. The joys of thrifting. :)
I also tried to find your C&A cardigan, but no luck... Anyway, bought a Nice dress instead. :)
It would be fitting for a museum curator, right? Like a few paintings suddenly jumped on me and the patterns got jumbled. :D
