Lazing in the Castle

What a lovely Saturday afternoon! We walked up to the Castle with Sophie and Eszter and played tourist, snapped some pictures and as it was really hot, just hang out looking down on the city.

OK, here I'm looking down on my shoes instead.

The castle district is like a journey back in time, most of the buildings have hundreds of years behind them. Some of them are surely haunted, like this one:

Striped walls, I wish they were still in fashion!

This lady matches her surroundings so well, I couldn't resist taking the picture.

Do you remember the stall with the handmade bags from my previous post? Well, check this out:

I swear I didn't have this custom made, still it matches the blog exactly with its dots and grey trim! I'm so happy I have a blog-bag. :)

A close-up with my necklaces (also handmade).

The owl ring Sophie gave me just because she thought I'd like it! Of course I like it! :)
Thank you Sophie, and for taking the pictures of me!

My skirt, Sophie's bag and dress

What I wore: Skirt: H&M, Top: Zara, Shoes: Humanic,
Hat: Interestingly I have no idea where it's from, Belt: Reserved,
Bag: Handmade from Gouba, Necklaces: Handmade from Jojó Art Shop

I'd look down to those shoes too, cause they're really cute ^^ and I love that owl ring! What a great gift! ^^ Just saw in your label list that these photos were taken in boedapest! My boyfriend and I were thinking we could maybe go there in september if we manage to find a good last-minute deal ^^ x

Thank you, Nikki! :) Yes, I live in Budapest, and it's absolutely worth a visit! Great architecture from every era, lovely spas to soak in mineral water, some super bars in interesting locations, and really nice weather in the autumn. I hope you find a good deal! :)

It's amazing to walk around in the castle! So many lovely streets and buildings. I could hardly choose a few pics. :)

I didn't plan to look for skirts in H&M, but someone left this one in my size in the underwear section. Divine intervention, I say!

No, I haven't seen the movie in Bruges. Though, maybe I will someday... just because of Mr Farrel ^^ I have seen Bruges itselves a few times, haha ^^ It's so medieval! I have pictures from my last visit in March on my blog :) if you wish, you can find them under the tab 'Belgium' :D x

Thanks Jess! Floppy hats are the best, aren't they? :)

I've seen your Belgium tab, and I really really liked it! It's great that you blog about what to see in your country!
Watch "In Bruges", I can recommend it wholeheartedly, it's a great film! It's funny, it's clever, and you can see a lot of lovely architecture in there... :)

Hehe. the polka dots on your bag are adorable and match your blog. So silly. Love your outfit too--and all of the blues.

Good thing your shirt says BLUE because I wouldn't have known what color it was. (Haha, jk.) Looks like you had a good time (and props to you for snapping a sneaky photo of that lady!) and I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who ends up looking at her shoes a lot.

This is what I love about Europe! I mean, how many castles can you go visit in the U.S.? ;) You look awfully adorable in your hat, too.

Hi!! Thanks for your comment! It was so nice ;)!

I really like the first picture, it looks so spontaneous hehe! Also, the architecture is fantastic. Question, does the government pay to have these buildings in perfect shape or the homeowners??

Finally, I really like the color of the belt, the necklaces are so beautiful, aaand I want that owl ring! It's so awesome!

Saludos ;)

I know, I couldn't resist when I saw it... This bag is totally like my blog, only inside out. :)

Yep, the designer probably didn't have any better ideas what to write on the tee... :D
Looking at your shoes while shooting your pics is so very tempting... At least here you can see my hat better. :)

Thank you for your visit and for your comment too, Marissa! :)
I love the huge choice of castles to visit around here, but there are a load of sights I'd love to see in the U.S. though too! Hopefully one day!

Madeline Quaint said...

Thank you Veronika, and for noticing the last picture, as I love that one too! :)

Yeah, it's easier to smile if a friend takes your pictures. :)

The castle itself (not pictured here) is the responsibility of the state, but these houses in the castle district are all owned by everyday people, so they take care of them. They can apply for money from the state if their bulidings are listed/protected. They do a good job. :)

Hi, thank you! These necklaces are by an illustrator girl who puts her images behind glass. I'm hooked on them. :)
